Spielwerke Libraries

Introducing Spielwerke Libraries

The Spielwerke Libraries are designed to help tools programmers to create better tools for their teams, helping them to make better games.

They are a nimble, modular collection of libraries that can be used to write tools from scratch as well as retrofitted to current productions and engines. It gives a solid foundation to tools development which allows the tools development to stay agile and respond to changing requirements.

Furthermore, the repertoire of existing standard functionality covered by the Spielwerke Libraries allows spending time on the functionality that really matters for the efficiency of the production workflow, instead of toiling away to reimplement basic functionality again.

Technical Requirements

The Spielwerke Libraries are mainly based on the .NET framework 2 with some native C++ projects and built in Visual Studio 2005.

Getting started

The best way to get started with the Spielwerke Libraries is to firstly build and run the example editor, the installation section contains more details. Please keep in mind that the editor is by no means meant to be ready for game production, it is just sample code serving as an illustration of the Spielwerke Libraries as well as a good starting point to a full level editor.
